The Mission of Shop Seed Apparel

What it Means

SEED stands for Surrender, Elevate, Encounter, Dare. It's a four step guide to further God's kingdom in ourselves and in other's around us. The purpose of SEED is to encourage deep love and bold sharing.

Surrendering means to surrender your will to God's will. We must take up the cross and follow him. We must trust in his plan for our lives. "Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39

Elevate means to rise above the temptations of the world and is an encouragement to be more like God in our daily life. James 4:10 says, "Humble yourselves before the Lord, then he will lift you up." The Lord will not elevate you until you surrender yourself to him.

After these steps we are able to more clearly Encounter and experience God and his redeeming love, compassion, and kindness. Following these steps will strengthen our relationship with the Lord. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

The final step is Dare. Dare to boldly share. Dare to deeply love. Dare to stand up for God's truth. Matthew 28:19 says, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

how it started

how it started

I had the idea to start SEED in late 2020. I grew up in a Christian home and went to church every Sunday but had just started to form a personal relationship with the Lord about a year before this. I searched every pocket and crevice of the Earth to find fulfillment and it never satisfied. But Jesus took my broken pieces and my sin and created a beautiful story of redemption out of me. I'm certainly not a perfect Christian, no one is, but ever since then, I have been chasing after Jesus with all I have in me. As a freshman in high school, I began to dream up ideas for SEED; how I was going to make the clothing, what designs I wanted to make, what to call my business. In the summer of 2021, I started the process of screen printing. It was a long trial and error process with lots to learn, but finally, that fall I made my first line of clothing and started selling it on the website. I am now a sophomore at Iowa State University studying Event Management. I hope to move overseas in full-time missions in the future. Having this business has helped me to learn about planning, organization, finances, customer service, design, and multitudes of other skills. I love Jesus a whole lot, along with ice cream, and clothing, and reading, and running, and spending quality time with good people. I pray that the ‘Jesus Apparel’ that comes out of this business plants seeds wherever each shirt and hoodie and crewneck travels. Thank you for your support!
